It is 08.00 am on Friday 2nd July 2021, 290 days from the start of the 2020 – 2021 school year.
Life being what it is under the Covid cosh, i.e. unpredictable, Mum and Dad are still in firefighting family mode. This is the second blog where again we cover the last two weeks, not the usual one week.
1. The EU vaccination passport
Dad can it his anytime; Mum is eligible after her second Pfizer jab next week – all dressed up and nowhere safe to go !!!!
2. Our ‘new horizons’ programme – June 2021 to May 2022
2a. Updating the way we record our progress, (or lack of it!)
Our original table 1 (Our progress) and Table 2 (Our ‘new horizon’ objectives) were getting far too messy for us (and any reader of our blog!) to follow our trail of success or failure. We now have one table only, split into three sections
We have temporarily removed our progress tables, they need tidied up, they were getting too messy to follow our trail of success and failure.
2b. Camping site silence!
Getting away for a break from the daily grind No response from the camping sites
2c. House hunting – we are about to bid for a house
Dad: he has a selection of starter piano tunes They are described as for ‘younger’ beginners He could not find anything for the older person keen to learn – Getting the books is the easy bit -So all, set, bt now comes the difficult bit – finding 10 minutes twice a day! And getting it into the diary as a daily event- we shall see
Healthy ageing

Our communities are at different stages of response in different parts of the world. We can learn a lot from each other. Building on World Health Organization and other evidence-based guidance, this blog will gather and disseminate stories that inform, inspire and hopefully strengthen social connectiveness while we all practice physical distancing.
We invite you to contribute. At present we are looking for stories in the following areas:
May the force be with all of us.
